Riyadh Valley Company, the investment arm of King Saud University, participated in the closing of the second demo day of the Riyadh Early-Stage Funding Program, organized by Flat6Labs, one of Riyadh Valley Company’s investment portfolio funds. The event took place on January 22, 2024.

The closing of the second demo day of the Riyadh Early-Stage Funding Program provided an exceptional opportunity for startups to showcase their innovative products and services across various technology sectors to a distinguished audience comprising potential investors, partners, media representatives, and prominent figures in the entrepreneurship field.

Dr. Khaled bin Saad Al-Saleh, the CEO of Riyadh Valley Company, gave a speech praising the efforts of Flat6Labs in establishing the Flat6Labs Startup Seed Fund, which focuses on investing in early-stage startups in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, particularly in the fields of financial technology, healthcare, and education. Wadi Riyadh’s contribution to the fund aims to foster the development of the local knowledge economy through partnerships between educational and research institutions, the business community, and the investment sector.

In 2022, Saudi Arabia achieved the highest growth in venture capital funding in the Middle East and North Africa region, with total investments amounting to 987 million Saudi riyals, representing 31% of the total invested capital in the region.
